HTC announces standalone Vive VR headset in China

HTC Vive the most advanced as well as the most expensive VR headset out there in the market in comparison to the Google daydream VR headset, cardboard, etc.

The HTC Vive VR headset requires a powerful PC in order to function properly, which makes the Vive VR experience very costly, so HTC has released a standalone version of their vive VR headset which you can use without a PC.

Although HTC is planning to release the VR headset in China only. HTC seems to have partnered with Qualcomm for the VR headset as the headset is running on the Snapdragon 835 processor.

HTC focuses to give an “affordable, yet high-quality VR experience” to the users with this standalone VR headset. According to the rumours the headset is expected to have a 5inch screen although HTC hasn’t released any specific list of features, date or price regarding the VR headset.

The Chinese version of the VR headset will be based on Viveport due to the fact that Google daydream content is not permitted in China while the US version of the VR headset will be based on Google Daydream.
